Home decorating can be done on a shoestring budget and can be a really fun project to do with children or the entire family. My granddaughter and I created these beautiful wood blocks in a weekend, she is so proud that her artwork has its place in the main foyer! You will need: Gel medium A tampering tool, see image…if you can’t find one a spoon will work for this as well. A package of foam brushes for painting A really pretty block of wood Sponge Reverse your favorite image in Photoshop…if you don’t know how to do this, most laser shops can do this for you. Then have them print out a nice laser copy. (your inkjet printer will not work for this project.) Spread a thin layer of the gel medium over the top of your photo, in consistent rows to be sure it is completely covered. Lay your image face down and use tamper or spoon to gently smooth it out perfectly. Be sure to remove all the bubbles. Let this dry overnight for best results Next soak your image with a wet sponge and use your fingers to very carefully remove the little fibers of paper. What is left is your beautiful image totally right side ow. Yay! Let this dry thoroughly, overnight is a good idea and then use a clean sponge brush to cover it with clear sealer. This ill bring up the luster of the colors and protect your artwork. This is a great way to get the family involved in your home decorating!
